Phone Scam Alert !We want to alert our customers to be aware of several telephone scams recently reported. Some customers have recently received a phone call claiming to represent "Security Bank Department." The caller may say that your debit card has been deactivated. In order to reactivate, the customer is asked to dial a number and enter the customer's 16-digit debit card number. In another phone scam, the caller asks for the customer's account number during the call. These calls are not from Security Bank. They are typical of fraudulent attempts (called "phishing") to gain access to your account. To ensure your privacy, we never ask you to give out account or other personal information by telephone. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact any Security Bank office. |
